So here is the problem. If I take off from a light at say 20-25% throttle normal driving, after each shift the truck bogs for a second and then clears at right around 1700 rpms every time.

When watching the timing live, the timing is about 20-25 degrees then shifts at say 2100 and the rpms drop to about 1500 in the next gear. After the shift and up until about 1700 rpms, the timing is only 5-7 degrees then right at 1700 jumps to 20-25 and I feel a surge like a cylinder that had dropped out just came alive. :emotions122:

I had checked the plug wires and saw 3 were leaking spark at night so I just replaced plugs wires cap and rotor, still the same thing.
MAF is cleaned, didnt find any vac leaks, all cylinders came in at 195 psi compression.
Im not sure if it is related to torque management from the trans or what?

I bet it's TM ... there was a thread on FSC with screen caps and all that ... it was pretty cool.

I don't have links it was a long time ago.

Screen Caps = screen captures of the screen of the computer running the monitoring software while he was driving.

unknown at this time.
When senses a misfire or detonation effect the PCM drops the advance briefly to recover to help prevent damage but would be the same in any gear. When everything is normal that is just engine management at work for long term reliability and less stress on the drivetrain.

My stupid Auto Enginuity scanner doesnt do Knock retard dammit, I wish I could see that. Wonder if the Map or KR sensor is bad. I did have it pinned at the rev limiter for 20 full seconds a few weeks ago trying to get the crank relearn to go on the snap on scanner.

My MAP maxes out at about 50% throttle, then if you go to 100% no difference. I dont know what the working range is in terms of vac inches.

Yeah, it isnt the MAP (changed) and it isnt the knock sensor (changed).

I had no idea that when you pull the knock sensor that coolant would piss all over me.:emotions122:

Looking more and more like a distributor gear. I did notice it had play when doing the cap and rotor. Ill bet the gear is hammered. Have to get one at Napa tomorrow.
