Ok so my sisters trying to change her wheel bearing out this week and she’s sent me a pic saying she can’t get this capt off to get access to the cv axle nut

To me this looks like a 2wd hub I’ve never seen a cap on my cv axles on either my truck or Tahoe is she just high or is there a cap there I’m not seeing? Lol if so how is a good way to get it off

no cap, you dont replace just the bearing. im not sure replacement bearing for the hubs are even readily available
you replace the entire hub by removing the 3 bolts on the inside of the knuckle

I knew I should’ve went and helped her I thought her Tahoe was a 4wd though and I guess she’s ditsy enough to fight a 2wd wheel bearing for hours before realizing there’s no cv axle behind it lmao! Of course she won’t ever answer the phone when I call and try to explain or help her through it

I ordered her a kryptonite wheel bearing from Rudy’s diesel it was the quickest at the time for shipping and I’ve had great luck with my previous kryptonite wheel bearings

I feel bad for not going to help now because she’s been out a Tahoe for a week now but I had stuff to do

I sent her one for a 4wd Silverado I swore hers was 4 wheel drive and even though it wasn’t I figured she had enough common sense to know there’s no nut to take off of the cv axle if you don’t have any cv axles! So it was partly my fault lol what’s funniest is she beat on it for days thinking there was a cap on there when she finally sent the pic and said she couldn’t get it off I was like wowwww that looks like a 2wd you were beating the hell out of your truck for two days for nothing lmao

Yea my buddy who lives up the road from her stopped by and tried to help her he said there ain’t no cap there but she was hell bent that there was because what I told her and the video I sent her so yea total case of she trusted me and I misinformed her and caused her to fight it for days been it should’ve been a 1-2hr job if even

I swore she had 4wd! I guess now I know lol I’m still laughing about it but she was pissed when I talked to her on the phone and brought it up she was like “yea I ain’t trying to talk about that right now” she was highly upset…
If I diddnt have so much going on with the bathroom at the time and my trucks tie rod bolts breaking and wife’s car blowing a tire out I just diddnt have enough time to get down there to her but if I could’ve i definitely would’ve done it for her while showing her how.
