I have a 2015 Yukon SLE with the Bose system WITHOUT the sub. I'm satisfied with everything except the lack of sub. What are my options to upgrade as a DYI instead of paying the dealer or trusting someone else to perform this upgrade? I'm pretty handy here but don't want to reinvent the wheel if someone else has already tackled it. Would prefer to stick with stock Bose equipment rather than dealing with a bunch of interface issues in the future. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks all!

Depends on GM's integration. You will need to pull part numbers to see if the amp, headunit, and sub need to be changed or if you can just change the amp and sub. The end result will either way be lackluster for the money. The stock bose is a step above garbage and will be more $$ than an aftermarket anything.

One of the first mods I did to mine was to rip it out. Amusingly I had the stock bose sub but just put in some 7" mids and a pair of tweets and have significantly more bass than the stock system had. I also have more power and a better install, but if you can't do the add a bose sub for less than $50 I'd look at other options.

Do you have any details on how you went about the install of your setup? Very interested and appreciate the feedback on the the stock Bose system. Not looking to bust windows but I know there is more to offer than what I have. Thanks a lot!

My setup is somewhat complicated as I yanked the headunit, half of what is behind the dash and replaced it with a 10" monitor and stuffed a windows computer into the console.

Do you know if your truck has an amplifier or is it just the headunit? If it is only the head unit a standard LOC (line output converter) will work to get an output. Will just have to pull the dash and tap into the front mids.

Sorry, I "assume" it has the Bose inline amp, but I've never torn into it to find out. I would like to use the stock sub location ideally, but if I can stuff an amp into that location and replace the fronts with some decent sounding lows and swap out the tweeters, I would be willing to go that route as well. What brand of 7" did you go with for the front? Thanks again!

I have all home audio stuff in my car, I only brought it up to diminish your desire for the bose sub. For what you wanted an external sub is a better option . stock location is going to be tough or expensive though...
