Has anyone used the Vege BU60HD Reman Torque Converter offered by Summit Racing? I see it has a billet cover but I'm not sure if has uses a thicker clutch over OEM. The Summitt rep couldn't tell me but he expected that it did since it was listed as Heavy Duty. I had read that it was made by CVC (Consoloidated Vehicle Converters). I'm swapping converters out before the 'explosion.'

. FYI: I use the Yukon as a grocery getter with light towing once in awhile.

Thanks in advance.

Nothing really on the company that rebuilds these t/c in Mexico. There’s a lack of specs to back up that it’s HD.

I have this converter in my 2012. It's accumulated about 30K on it since then, with lots of towing a 7500 lb camper. It's been great.

I have the CVC BU60FHD based on a recommendation by @Geotrash. Summit also has the flanged version for a few extra dollars, so I recommend that one.

I don't think you can find a billet cover rebuild with a warranty for less.

The downside is that none of know the clutch thickness, and I think Nick our resident transmission specialist recommends a thicker clutch.

There is also the option to go with a GM reman 6L90 twin clutch from the newer 2500HD, but I don't think anyone has tried it yet.
