So I have a question and this has been going on for a while. I have a 08 Tahoe four-wheel-drive 204k miles on it. From time to time I hear a clunking noise while turning slow sometimes even backing up. But what I can’t figure out is that both of my CV axles have been replaced and is fairly new. Is there another part that could cause this? I also need to get an alignmentand there are some things that definitely needs to be replaced before then, but what else could possibly cause that clunking/pop noise?

Occasional clunk? I'm guessing Balljoints.
I had a bad one that wouldn't clunk so much as chirp a tire when making a tight turn..

The front differential mounts/bushings can cause a clunk. I replaced the mounts and bushings (all in one), and the clunk went away.
