I have the upgraded RC shocks... Don't remember the name of them. When this truck was at a true 6", it rode phenomenally... Better than my 2500HD cranked on Billsteins rides.

I'm sure Billsteins would be better but I have no complaints.


As far as kit quality, I've had three kits now. The new non torsion drop design is superior to the 88-98 style torsion drops (it's not exactly an apples to apples comparison). I'd opt for the non torsion drop for a cleaner look anyway.

As far as customer service, unbeatable. I had a kit come with two passenger side upper control arm drop brackets instead of a driver's side... They overnighted the missing part to me and never asked for the old one back! No proof of purchase or questions asked.

You can call RC and ask if they would take the shocks off the kit price. They do have some kickass customer service, I can definitely vouch for that!

Definitely going to have to look into that, I'd assume I'd need some bilsteins or other shock that are long enough for a 6" lift?

edit: Also, what else was required when doing a lift of that size? driveshafts?

Supreme Suspension has it's adjustable panhard bar on sale for $99 shipped. I just purchased one but I don't have time to install it. Nothing screams cheap obvious cheap quality but as stated, I've yet to actually use it.

Nope. The RC kit comes with everything. It pushes the rear axle forward (you can see it in my picture) and it would take $400 in control arms to realign it.

The kit comes with a panhard bar relocation bracket to recenter the rear but if you add spacers down the road and crank like I just did, you need an aftermarket adjustable panhard bar anyway and might as well remove that bracket.

Everything else remains the same. The most squeamish part of every Rough Country kit has been unloading the torsion keys and grinding the front differential down.

It doesn't hurt. If you look in the picture I posted you can see how the rear axle sits closer to the rear passenger doors rather than center in the wheel well.

Cosmetically, it would look better centered like it is from the factory. AFAIK, any lift will do this unless it has some control arm relocation brackets of some sort or adjustable control arms.

Do your front tires sit a bit further out (larger track width) than the rear tires after you installed your lift?
