Need some help please. I bought a 2001 Suburban LT about 6 months ago. Suspension is all original. When I drive through small dips or go over speed bumps, I hear one quick squeaking type metallic sound in the rear when the suspension compresses. I can't seem to replicate the noise when the truck is not moving. Not sure if it's a bushing or shock. Are there any common known problem areas I should be looking for? Thanks for the help.

No leaning. I just got 4 new tires and alignment, no problem.

is it metal on metal? like 2 metal parts hitting? or does it sound like metal hitting something else? i have a squeak from my sway bars, but it sounds like rubber twisting. might want to check your u-joints. just my .02¢

I've heard of rear springs making noise in their perches if the upper/lower rubber isolators have been removed... if yours are missing or worn this may be the cause.

It's a metal to metal sound. U joints seem fine. Never thought about the springs. I will check it out. The truck has 150M miles so thats very possible.

Another possibility could be worn bushings for any of the stabilizer bar, trailing arms and panhard bar mounting points.
