Hey all... my 99 Yukon 4x4 with 124,*** on it finally is in need of new shocks. I still have the stock GM ones on it (Bilstein's I'm certain) and was looking for a replacement shock. I am not looking to float on air but dont want a really saggy week ass shock cause occasionally I throw an open car hauler back there and pull the 3000 lb race car to the track for a test session during the week.

So my question is actually simple, what replacement shocks would you recommend, have tried, heard good things about, or have heard horrible things about?

Not looking for a Cadillac ride just something that stays planted well and isnt affraid to have some load on it.

Thanks in advance.

I would stick with Bilstein or Moog for shocks.I'd also look at getting a 'heavy duty' rating on them as well.

Was looking at the Bilstein BST Heavy Duty shocks part numbers F4-BE5-A405-H0 up front and F4-B46-2179-H0 out back.

Just wasn't sure if there was something else out there that might be better suited.

Shocks are a funny thing, they seem to be so personal.
I've learnt that over the last few months.

I've had Monroe Sensi-traks, didn't like em, so Now I'm running Monroe Reflex's. They cost more than the Bilstiens, but so far they are worth it. They seem to soak up washboard and other bumps, and seem to keep my rear end firmly planted with no axle hop/sway or anything. So far I really like em. But again it's personal.
