Now that I've had some coffee and posted this in the correct section. Sorry mods.

So I need some help. My buddy has an 05 Yukon that is totaled and I want to upgrade the radio in my 02 Silverado. The Yukon has factory Navigation and some other odds and ends I want to add to the 02. I originally was going to just swap the dash guts to have a 2 Din hole for a new head unit but now I want to swap over the factory Navigation head unit and then I started to wonder if I can swap over the Automatic Temperature Control Panel too.

Here is my issue. Can I just yank the BCM, antennas and the entire radio harness and slap it into the 02 or will there be an issue? Do I need the BCM if I want the Navi system and all the wiring in my 02? I realize I'll have to have the BCM reprogrammed but that isn't a big issue in the grand scheme of things. If I want the ATC setup too, can I just yank the heater box and toss that in my truck too? I doubt ATC controls will work without the ATC heater box and blend door motors. Will I have to hodge podge it to make it work? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Automatic temp control has a different HVAC box too, I think. You'd have to pull the whole dash and interior and swap allllll the wiring. I think the NAV swap is pretty straightforward, but I don't know if the 05 stuff will play nice with an 02 setup.

I'm willing to pull the heater box too. I'm just hoping someone tried this swap or something like it before and can tell me how much of the 05 I need and where it will interface with the 02 fuse box/BCM. OR if it won't interface with the 02 BCM and will I have to pull the 05 BCM and have it reprogrammed? I'm willing to do it all, just need to know where my meeting point is.

You basically need the entire harness from the truck in order for everything to work. You'd basically have an 05 Silverado.

Are we saying *pull the entire harness* to include the PCM/engine management? if thats the case, the Yukon has 5.3 with auto trans and my truck has and 8.1 with manual trans which will cause a few issues. Hmmmmm. Ill have to see how things are when i pull the harness out of the yukon.

Yes, because it's all the same harness. I think it's the BCM that controls the climate

My hope was that the entertainment/BCM side was separate from the engine management/PCM side. One thread i read led me to believe the harnesses were separate where they connected to the BCM and fise box. Sounds like that is a pipe dream. Ill have to do some more hunting on this. Thanks for the input guys.
