Hey all -

Was having some major problems with the driver side door in my 98 2-door Tahoe. I could no longer open it form the inside since the plastic tab holding the the handle to the metal rod broke, and also something was going on where the window was completely off the track. It had power locks, power windows, and mirror adjustment.

Long story short, I got a new driver side front door from a 99 4-door Tahoe. Obviously this had power windows, power locks, and mirror adjustment as well. It also had buttons for 4 power windows, and some other child safety lock looking thing?

Got the door all hooked up, and initially the driver side power window worked just fine. Put it up and down a few times and continued on getting the door installed. Went to play with the window after getting the hinge pins put in and now neither the driver or passenger windows will go down. Swapped in the window controller from the old door (the one with 2 window buttons) to see if somehow the 4-window controller was screwing it up. Still nothing. Checked all the wiring harness connections to make sure they were clipped in, they're all good.

My fuse box has 2x 30am 14.5v fuse breakers that control the power windows. I swapped the top one that was not for the power windows, and replaced the breaker that was supposed to be for the power windows. Still nothing. Is it possible both breakers got taken out at the same time? I put both back into their original places, and now even my button to pop the rear hatch doesn't work, nor do the power locks.

Before I spend $20 on 2 replacements, is there anything else anyone can think of?

unknown at this time.
breakers are thermally activated. after letting them sit cold test for continuity. only one is used for the windows. you can see if you see voltage on the wires running to the motor when you press the switch. if not check for voltage on either of the breaker terminals with the key on. it will be the break near fuses #13 & 19 with the neg probe on a good ground.
