I have the problem that I am left with only one working remote control for my 2003 Tahoe.
Since it is the European version (433 mhz remote control, not 315 mhz) I can't find a replacement...I tried numerous online shops (none of them have them with my FCC ID, frequency, GM parts number), contacted manufacturer on Alibaba (they don't do them anymore or have never done the ones with 433 mhz), searched many different forums...nothing seems to work, so I am running out of options.

Is it possible to change the RCDLR module or the BCM in order to have a standard US remote work (with 315 mhz and a different FCC ID),
do they have to be programmed by a shop or can I do it myself with a Tech2 (China clone) ?

any stereo shop can hook you up with a aftermarket solution, this could give you the option of remote start and a upgraded security system also (if desired)

I would have to think you could swap in a US spec RCDLR but I cannot guarantee it’ll work since I’ve never done it. A brand new one will definitely need programming so I would try to find a used one and maybe you’ll get lucky and it’ll work just plugging it in.

Have you tried a dealer for the factory fob?

Dealerships in Germany are charging 300€ and more for a new remote...
I could only find new RCDLR's online, no used ones...

Sounds like you may have no choice then if they're the only ones that can get it.

I don't know if you'll be able to get around the programming on a new US RCDLR because it probably won't work with the programming put in it from an export one.
