Is anyone running sway bars? Opinions? Do most people leave the drive mode knob (?) in 2WD mode unless the weather is bad?

I don't know about sway bars but from my experience with the auto is that I always get stuff steering and a whine when accelerating, and that's in dry clear weather. Same thing on my hoe and burban so I just leave it set on 2.

Not personally running swaybars but I have a buddy with Hellwigs set and he loves them. Big ride improvement especially in corners.

A set of front and rear Hellwig bars will help out with the body roll and firm up the cornering.
leave it in 2H unless you go off road, snow or sand.

You should theoretically/potentially have very minor mpg ^ from staying in 2H instead of AUTO too

I added just the rear Hellwig sway bar on my Denali. Have it set in the middle of the 3 settings. Works well for both entrance ramps and to help stabilize the Denali when pulling my big trailer.

Reason I didn't do the front was twofold- with the independent front suspension by adding a stiffer front bar my experience on SUV's has been that it increases ride harshness in some conditions, and second I honestly didn't want to do the extra work. In talking to the folks at Hellwig they told me that a high percentage of their customers with heavy full size SUV's add only the rear bar.

Very informative. Thank you.

My thought was that if I added the rear bar, and I felt the Denali was too tail happy that I could always add the front later. Changed out the rear in 30 minutes (but used a friend's lift to do it), so it was an easy decision. It's been more than a year and I have no intention to add the front at this point.
