So, I just drove my truck home from the dealership, and the tach is all over the place. I thought it was completely dead, because it was showing 0 RPM at idle. Then as I was driving, it would kick back up between 1,000 and 2,000 RPM. Now, the needle is stuck at 6 in park. Any ideas?

Thanks

Probably a stepper motor going bad. Not hard to replace yourself if you know how to solder.

Yeah, there are stepper motors for each gauge. Its very common for them to go bad after a while and do some funky stuff.

Get a Platinum Escalade cluster - they look the best. And youll add a trans temp gauge. Just remember that mileage wont transfer and will need to be programmed.

I might go nuts and use that time to throw LED's in the interior too. We'll see
