Hello, I have a '99 Tahoe, two door, four wheel drive, it has 150,000 miles on it, and runs great. I have recently had new spark plugs and wires installed as well as the distributor cap, and rotor. There is a slight problem that is giving me some concerns. At take off it has a shudder, which is very noticeable. It only occurs when I have come to a complete stop and begins shuddering as soon as I take off. The shudder diminishes after about 8 seconds. It is also slightly more sluggish traveling up hills than I believe it should be. I have read a lot about this and cannot seem to find a perfect fit. I hope you can help, and I appreciate any response or feedback you can give!

Get a scan done that will look at misfire history as well as codes that do not trigger the CEL. Ensure the tranny fluid is red and clean with no signs of burning up or debris on it. Dis this start after you replaced those parts? And whose parts did you use?

I purchased the tahoe about 2 months ago and it had the shuddering problem then. I have checked the tranny fluid and it in tip top shape. When i took it to my mechanic for a tune up(when they replaced the plugs, wires, and distributor cap and rotor) he said i may need to possibly replace the 02 sensor. He checked for codes, and said nothing about a misfire or any other problems i would've assume he would've fixed.

I have also thoroughly cleaned the throttle body, and the throttle body spacer, in hopes that it may have been a engine related problem instead of a drivetrain one.

It's possible the trans has an issue and the last guy put fresh fluid and a filter in it.

thanks for the advice and shining some new light on the situation, I think I'm going to run it by my local tranny shop tomorrow and possibly get a few more inputs. I do appreciate all of yours as well!
