my 95 tahoe has a whining noise and i dont know what it is. it increases when i accelerate. Voltage is fine so I dont think it's the alternator. I was thinking it was either the ps pump or fuel pump. I have heard this noise on several gm vehicles. Any help is apprecited.

unknown at this time.
so consistent with engine speed then or vehicle speed? Forget about the fuel pump if there is no change in voltage at any speed.

I have a 99 tahoe that has a whining noise as well. I had the trans rebuilt and just had a new motor installed. What should I check when I drive it tomorrow to help you guys diagnose the problem.

Forgive me, I am seriously automobile challenged.

Edit: I hope it was Ok to bump this, I didnt want to start a new thread, when this one was similar

I had a whining noise that sounded like a turbine engine was installed in the back......turned out to be my rear diff chewing itself up. Conveniently enough it happened about 1000 miles out of warranty.

I can hear the whining sometimes after the truck turns off, sounds kinda like a car that levels itself out when its parked. IDK
