I have a 2005 Yukon XL2500 and just bought a new pair of tail lamps from a 2005 Yukon 1500 Denali. The keyways for the sockets do not match the tail lamp sockets that are on my truck now. Does anyone know how to tell what tail lamps I need or why one is different from the other?

I have attached a pic as well. The bottom lights are my current lights and the top lights are the new lights I just bought. As you can see, the top light socket, the keyways are completely different. The other two are similar, but the size of the keys is off by just a bit.

From my research, all 2004-2006 Yukon, Tahoe, and Suburban tail lamps should interchange so I'm at a loss for the difference in sockets.

Any help or explanations would be great appreciated!

On the top socket, the original tail lights, the keyways are in a Y position, on the new tail lights, they keyways are more of a T position so it's not a matter of them being rotated.
