when i did mine i started by taking off all the bolts i could see then squeezing my hand and a flat screwdriver under some tabs till it all came apart
i had a really hard time doing the lower bottom clip but nothing was damaged and chrome ones popped right in
no more than 2 hours going slow

Pull the bumper cover off. That's really easy and makes taking the grill out easier. You might want to get use to doing it. You have to pull the bumper cover to change the headlight bulbs anyways.

I hate that too. It was so easy on my 04 Yukon, I wish it were still that easy.
