Tech info needed 03 Yukon SLT

Hey guys, im a noob to these trucks.

I have a 5.3l 4x4 YUKON. Basically I always do my own oil changes but have always had 4 cylinders. How much oil is needed for an oil change for these 5.3's? I just bought the truck and have yet to research on my own, I figured this would be a good starting point. I plan on switching over to Mobile 1 since im at 101k.

Next, what kind of motor and transmission do I have as far as technical specs? Its a 4 speed auto.

Its 6 quarts with filter on the 4.8, 5.3, and 6.0 engines.

I just did my first oil change ever! I've always left it to the lube shop simply because it does not save me any money. As of right now with no bulk pricing on oil or filters I end up paying more doing it myself plus my time!

According to the Haynes Automotive Repair Manual I use... The 5.3 litre V8 in my 2002 Suburban takes 6.0 quarts with a filter change. So thats exactly 5.68 liters of fresh oil.

I like this tip I read last week on here. Just a scratch all or nail and punch a hole into the old filter and let it drain before you remove. Saves you from spilling filter oil everywhere! (im sure you know that, Im just excited about!)
