Starting to look seriously at a 2021 Yukon XL SLT...but all the SLTs in my area are 2WD, and to get the one equipped the way I want it, I’d either have to order it or have it dealer traded from over 200 miles away. If I test a 2WD, will the ride be the same as one with the 4WD option (yes I know the ride will be different once 4WD is on)? I want to make sure the ride won’t be different in normal conditions. Thanks!!

There are other variables that have more effect than whether it has 4x4. Suspension options with different springs such as the Z71, tire and wheel options, magnetic ride control vs conventional.

If it was a particular concern for ME, I’d be taking a day trip and a 200 mile ride.

Same here. Test drive what you may buy. It’s the only way to know. It used to be easy but with so many options these days it’s worth your time to go. If the one you drive isn’t the color or options you want you can order one that has them. Might be a good idea to snap a picture of the rpo codes.

You are getting good info. Too many variables. You need to road test a 2wd and then have a fun day road trip to drive the 4wd. You did not say where you are located so it is unclear if the 4wd is needed. The reason plenty of 2wd rigs in your area may be because that is what sells if the weather never gets bad in your area.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m north of Atlanta, and while we don’t need the 4WD for weather all the time, it’s nice to have and I wish I had it on my Tundra as we have a lot of mountain roads out this way as well
