Testing the blend door plug

I have an 04 Tahoe with the dual air controls, the style with the slide bars that go up and down for hot to cold.

The wife has been complaining about hot air on the drivers side. I checked it out and you can slide up and down and get from hot to cold on the passenger side and the rear air works find.

As I slide the pass. side up you can hear the click in the actuator up in the dash. When I slide the driver side up and down I hear nothing nor do I feel anything when you put your hand on the actuator itself.

Now before I drop the cash on the blend door actuator, is there a reading I should check on the four wire plug coming from the control to make sure it not the one slide went bad in it?

Hey I had the same issue with the hot coming out of the drivers side. The only difference is that mine is the digital auto. I ran through the retrain process after I disconnected the battery. When i finished that and turned it back on I didnt turn it all the way down to lowest setting and worked till I could get my actuator in from rock auto. This worked for me.

I believe you would have to have the scan tool to test the actual plug and see if it is receiving the command from the controller. I know it works on counts to give a position feedback so I am not sure how these are measured maybe voltage, magnetic position or something.

I replaced mine and seemed to work fine cost about 95 dollars from rock auto and three days to receive.
