The blinker housing is tough!

I was on the way to work this morning traveling at an approximate rate of speed of about 85mph when i heard a noise that made me almost soil myself. I don't know what it was but it jumped up and bit my yuk. I've slung drive belts before and that's what it sounded like. But power steering, a/c, temp was all good so i continued on. Then when i changed lanes i got the fast blinker. I thought for sure whatever it was busted the housing on my blinker and busted the bulb. But when i got to work i looked and it bounced off the black part of the top of the bumper and nailed the housing but only took a big chunk out of the housing, those things are strong!
