The Phenomenal Hoe
Alright i've been on this site for a good little while now, and i got to thinking that i've never really gave the run down on my tahoe..so i'm going to let you guys in on the history of 'er:
Bought the truck for $2500 Cash about a year ago, here's the issues when i purchased:
Slick tires, Tar all the back of the truck from some type of rubber that melted in the cargo area, 4x4 didn't work, Nothing had been altered (TOTALLY STOCK)
So the next day, I went and bought a used set of 265/75/16's that had about 75% tread left..I've known the guy for years so he cut me a deal of $250 (Tires, rotated, balanced..IE whole 9 yards)
Being that i'm not mechanicly inclined, over the next couple days, i spent hours at a time cleaning the tar out..that involved work such as removing the spare & carrier, taking out the jack and such, then rubbing down the plastic inside with a rag & soap..finally it came alot cleaner..
Couple months passed and my dad finally helps out to see whats wrong with my truck (we're not exactly friends, so he suprised me) but with him being a mechanic, he quickly solved the problem and told me i needed a new transfer case..easy right? not at all..i have the push button which is harder to find..after maybe a month, my ma's boyfriend sales me one for..wait for it.. $180..yepp, i got lucky i know..so he, also is a mechanic(ironic huh?), installed my transfer case free of charge..next day went out and hit the mud hole, worked like a charm..
After all that hard labor, you could look at my truck and you know what you saw? The same truck..so with me being young, i wanted to start modifying it a bit..first i installed a completely new set of grey husky liners..(Amazon is great with husky deals) spent about $200
second, i got my bullet hole rims off another truck i previously owned and quickly bought 4 used 32x11.5 mud tires (Hadn't planned on keeping them long) Spent about 150 on everything (still the same guy i bought my first set from)
Then the next month i got new 6.5" & 6x9's in the 'Hoe to replace those ****** stocks..Shortly after i received a new pioneer head unit for christmas (the radio is the only thing on my truck that i didnt buy myself)
^^ALL THIS HAPPENED IN ABOUT 6 MONTHS
After about 3 months of doing absolutely nothing to the 'Hoe because i had no money, I got a job and within a month, bought a Ranch Hand brush guard.. $180 from a guy locally..
I fail to peer pressure and bought 2 12" Kicker CVR's 8 Ohm with a 1600 Watt Mono Block amp already in box for $250..also from a local guy..
I believe im OCD, because i sold my ramch hand after only a couple months of buying it..to be honest it sat a little crooked and it bothered me..I caught hell for selling it, but i got $275 out of it, so I'm fine with it..
The next week, i bought a Surco Safari Rack for about $250 (also from amazon) and shortly after bought 4 U bolts to hold it onto the truck..It looked too plain so i bought 4 light tabs (almost $100 just for the TABS) then i bought 4 KN daylighters to put on the rack..about $200 for all 4..All in all, i spent about $600 on the roof rack & etc..
THAT IS ALL IVE WROTE AS OF NOW..It's been a great year for my 'Hoe..I know not everyone is going to read this, but i do hope i atleast showed SOMEONE that if you stick to your plan, it will gradually come together..I'm still not done with my truck, but I'm not stopping anytime soon
Shortly, i plan on putting on my FUTURE mods to complete my 'Hoe in my signature for all of you to see
