Thinking of switching

Wife picked up a 2022 Yukon SLT. I love it just as much or more than she does. But I am considering trading my 2021 Sierra AT4 that’s fully loaded to the hilt for a Yukon. Just not sure if I will miss having a truck or not. Got a little one (5yrs) and another on the way.

Has anyone jumped from a pickup to a Yukon or Tahoe.

I mean, it's always nice to have the utility of a truck around. If you already have a Yukon, just drive it once in a while to scratch that itch. At least that's my $0.02 worth. I will say I've always been the person to wonder why a household would buy multiple of the same vehicle, missing out on an opportunity for variety.

I did. Always had a pickup and on roadtrips with kids always thought I wanted a Yukon XL. Well I traded into a 2017 Yukon Denali XL. Lots of good things for a while. Then its too nice to put real dirty things in. Then you try and use tarps and blankets. Its also a big truck for everyday. That got annoying. Then bought an S550 and an older suburban. Then I wanted the newer technology. Then I just needed a pickup more than a Yukon. So fast forward, I have a pickup again. Wife has an SUV, its all good. I also find the pickup better everyday than a huge denali?? even though you can argue they are close in size!!

I put 18" sides on a 8x10 snowmobile trailer and can haul anything a pickup could haul with ease. You will love the yukon over a pickup!!!!!

I have both, need both, although the pickup not as often but it has it's place
as long as the at4 is a crew cab you should be good
i had a extended cab and for a family that's just too small no leg room and throwing in a car seat just compounds the problem
the pickup would not be my 1st choice for a extended road trip but that could depend on where & what kind of road trip, camping? pickup, snowbound? pickup

i look at Tahoe’s and suburbans as fancy pick ups with nicer caps and nicer interiors

That's why I keep my 17 yr old RAM around. Pulls my big 6k TriToon with ease. Go to Lowes and throw anything in the back, no problem. Park close to the door, No problem, don't care about door dings. Someone needs a PU to go get something? Take it , fill it up and bring it back ! Super cheap plates and Insurance. Good 3rd vehicle if any of the other 2 are in the shop, never have to worry if they have a loaner or not... I could go on....

I have both, often do. I enjoy variety in my driving experiences, so for me two identical vehicles wouldn’t appeal.

As others mentioned, you will miss the truck. I had a 2016 F-150, 2017 Nissan Titan, 2019 Ram Laramie and now the Yukon/s. I miss the truck bed and not worrying about throwing anything I want back there. Also, having such a huge cabin space creates its own problems; like interior noises! Everything shifts around and all the seats shake. Another thing I hate is having bugs fly in every time I need something from the cargo area. It doesn't matter if bugs fly in the truck bed...
My quietest vehicles were my trucks. My next vehicle will likely be the new Tundra. I may consider the Sequoia, because Toyota interiors should shake and rattle less.

Oh yeah, I also miss having the ability to sit on the tailgate and use it as a convenient work bench....
