time to change the fluid

Good morning,
As with everything else with this new ride. I want to change my tranny fluid, I installed the vette servo and although the fluid didn't smell really bad, it was dirty though.
I know I will be dropping the pan and doing the filter, reading other post on this relatied topic, "Jay", say to change some other stuff while inthere. Boost valve, comes to mind. plates and balls, pistons holly cow. any body else out there have any real world experience in this department. Do I need special tools? Dealer only parts or AM.

Also I think I will pull the cooler line and flush it that way. ,any body have an idea of how to install a drain plug? I was thinking of welding a nut on the inside, but I don't know if im down with that either.

figured I'd go with Castrol Mer 6, RP is just really $$$$

To me, I leave it to the tranny experts. Have them drop the pan change filter and fluid.

Nobody else out there? Pan and filter is easy as long as you dont takeout all the bolts and start prying while laying on your back. Haha

So from what I have gathered, I think i will just tackle the Boost valve, this part looks pretty straight foward. I can't find where anyone has actually posted a link to the one required.

change the filter clean the pan, pull the line, (change all the fluid) and call it a day.
