i am originally from that area, we did this during a recent stay during Hurricane evacuations in Louisiana.

Instead of tinting the front windshield, we had the ceramic heat shield installed on the inside. It is not a tint, but a heat barrier shield. Really knocks the IR down coming in the truck. Pricey but well worth it.
