Tire Information?

I just bought a set of 15 inch rims and i am planning on buy new tires for them the question is i plan on buying 33 X 12.50R15 What dos the 12.50 Mean? Dos it mean the the spacing to the top of the tread to the tire? Or is it something more complicated xD

The width of the tire is 12.5 inches wide.

So it would not affect the tires get mounted on there rims?
