Tire mounted on the roof?

I have had thoughts about this recently, has anyone done this or seen it, or is it even possible? Thought it might be a pretty good idea.

I did it back in HS with a stock tire , I just ratchet strapped it down to the existing Roof rack it was stable but It was a PITA getting it up there . I can only imagine a 35 inch tire now I would go for a new rear tire carrier IMO thats my plans

Yeah, I don't have a spare for my truck and plan on getting one in the next few weeks, but don't want to put it in the back. So I was thinking a custom mount for the top would be sweet. But I could definitely see where it would be a b***h putting it up there or getting it down.

Yea I would say If you have no other options mount it on the roof , Ask Bowtie Freak I believe he fabled something up to fit a 35 in his rear compartment and it looks good

get the bumper with a swing out tire carrier on it. gonna be pricey tho.

i thought about that once but my roof and hitch basket are need for other things. beside mine stores under the body and i dont need that space for other equipment yet so it can stay there until i can get the TAG bumper with options
