Hey i just got a set of slightly used at/mt tires and 2 seem to have alittle better tread then the others... should i put the better tread on the front or the rear? none are to far off, just seems like the slightly more worn ones were on the front of the truck maybe?

so yea, my basic question to the masses is, should i put the more worn tires on the front or back? and why?

well:
the rule is more worn to the rear, because you want maximum STEERING and braking.

Of course this assumes your vehicle is set up to understeer so you don;t have to worry about the rear end stepping out too much.

ok cool thats what i figured also... and its awd so the front and rear are both driving for traction... but i figured the better tread in the front for steering... and i noticed on my last set that the fronts were slightly more worn the the rears so maybe this will even them out

thanks for your help eagle

I always keep the better ones at the front, FWD AWD 2WD 4WD, doesn't matter, steering traction is way more important than power traction in my opinion!!
