I'm looking at buying 4 new BF Goodrich All Terrain KO2 tires but not sure what size to go with. I'm putting them on '14 Silverado split 5 spoke wheels which are 18" rims. I will also be doing the Rough Country leveling kit (the one that includes extended shocks) on my 06 Tahoe Z71. The rough country leveling kit says it will do 285/75R16 (32.8" Dia.; 11.2" wide) tires. I've narrowed down to these two:

285/65R18: 32.6" Dia.; 11.2" wide; for about $289/tire
275/70R18: 33.2" Dia.; 10.8" wide; for about $240/tire

So basically the 285 will add about 1.0" height over stock Z71 wheels I have on now and the 275 will add about 1.6" in height. Any input is helpful. Thanks

Those two weigh 20 pounds more than the original tires, a lot of weight to be swinging 'round and 'round. I went with the 6-Ply (not available in your sizes) and regained a lot of responsiveness. Anyhow, if it were me, I would choose the latter tire.

That's an interesting point, I didn't think of that. The 285/75R16 that Rough Country says will fit is about the same weight as these two. So my guess is that it's not much of an issue.

The weight issue will become noticeable when you hit the gas and she won't move like she used to.

265-70-17 and they are 6-Ply KO2s. Bought the truck with BFG Rugged Trail 10-Ply tires. Truck barely moved when put in drive and did not coast at all. Those tires weighed 50lbs each, the new ones are 44 ish if memory serves. The OEM tires weighed 38lbs each.

If those will perform like mine you'll be mighty pleased with them. In some situations they negate the need for 4WD and they are rock steady on the highway in heavy rain so far.

I had BFG A/T 285/75R16's on my 97 Tahoe so I was used to the slight if any power difference.

I had gotten great traction from them in the past and I know the KO2 is even better design. How is the tread wear on yours? I got about 85,000 miles on my KO's before they were done. I've read a few people saying they only got 20,000 miles but they must be doing something wrong. Just was curious though.

I'm leaning towards the 285's but not sure if there's a benefit over being 0.6" taller or 0.4" wider between the two. Just wondering anyone else's thoughts or what others are running
