Tire size vs rub

Whats the largest tire i can run on a 22"? I'm looking to run 22's with AT or mudd tires..Will 305/40/22 work or will they rub?

The offset of the rims is going to make a difference. I ran 305/40/22 with a 22x9.5" wheel with no drop and did not rub. Have a 2/3 drop now with the same size and still have no rubbing. Offset for my wheels is +35

The ones that i'm looking at are +30

If they are 9.5" wide.....+30 should be fine

Not sure i may just get the wheels because i want to run toyo open countries in a 305/40/22

I have 305/45 but with a street tire. And I had minimal rubbing. Only on the plastic wheel liner. But I don't know with the M/Ts.

Whats the largest 20" tire i can run with out rubbing and not being just cm's away from rubbing. I might take it down a few trails
