I noted that you didn’t let it warm up after changing that sensor. You should take it for a ride and get it up to temp. Then share a video of the live O2 data at idle. Not sure on the fuel trim reset. For all we know after what he had for plugs in it there could be a mix and match of injectors too. Wouldn’t be surprised but with a dead O2 the LTFT would be way out for a while until you drive it.

That makes total sense @George B. Hopefully I have flex fuel injectors in it--but I doubt it.

I've cleaned those grounds already--they weren't that bad. Also when I had disconnected the old O2 I never got a code either, which I thought was strange. I'm not sure if I can reset ltft with the tech 2. Is that possible @swathdiver , @Doubeleive @Fless ?
Def isn't misfiring. This is at idle.
Thx for all the ideas @Dantheman1540, keep 'em coming if you can think of anything else.
yes you can reset the fuel trims it's pretty easy just browse the menu I forget where it is at under special options or something like that. It will say "reset fuel trims"
I would go back to the muffler shop and ask if they could check for a exhaust leak usually those guys are pretty good at finding leaks because they deal with it all the time.
if you have one of those drive in car wash with the pressure washing wand I would get under there and wash all the transmission fluid off.

That's a good thought about mismatched injectors but doesn't explain why it ran fine to the exhaust shop. I don't really know a way to visually identify the difference in the injectors especially while they are installed.

Out of the question with that exhaust shop. Do I need that Candi module? I don't think it works.

you can go to any muffler shop and ask if they can check for a exhaust leak, just tell them you are hearing a popping sound.
I don't think you need the candi module for your year, why do you think it is not working?

I was thinking the truck was adjusting the trim to compensate for a potential mismatch of injectors. Can't tell until it gets some time to adjust with a working O2.

I've plugged it in multiple times and the light is red most of the time. I don't remember if it was blinking or not.

When a technician is using a Tech 2 they are automatically notified for the need of the CANdi module by a message on the screen of the Tech 2. The CANdi module will be needed on 2005 & later GM vehicles & 2006 & later Isuzu commercial vehicles when two or more vehicle computers (ECM, TCM, BCM, ABS) are communicating. The CANdi module does not interfere with any diagnostic procedure currently performed by the Tech 2.
