When I took mine off I just hit the area with a DA polisher and it took most of the ghost image of the emblems and trim off. You really have to look hard to see where they were. This should get better over time as well.

Is it going to be hard against that gold paint though. Even though Id love mine to be off Im afraid of seeing where they were and it looking like crap. What is a DA polisher?

I just use the Meguiar's polisher that attaches to any power drill. Just follow the included instructions with the different pads and compounds and you can't go wrong. Fairly inexpensive and works great on my black paint.

How long did it take to remove the side moldings and get it cleaned up start to finish? Did you use that to actually take them off or just clean it up

I took them off by snaking nylon fishing string behind them and moving it back and forth to remove them. I then used an adhesive remover such as goo gone to remove the remainder of the double-sided tape that remained on the vehicle. Once all of the adhesive is gone then use the DA polisher to remove scratches and buff the paint to a like-new finish. Plan on at least a half day to remove all emblems, side moldings and buff the paint out. Not easy or quick but so worth it.
