Thanks for posting this article, Great read and information! I may not wait for mine to have problems prior to diving in. I know you did a convertor as PM and probably avoided the convertor failure which takes out everything else with debris. They make reference to the 6L80E as "liking to run hot" my question is how they run hotter? By design, More friction, Inadequate cooling or do they need to run hotter?

by design & more friction & better trans fluid.

more friction b/c they start locking up clutches prior to 4th gear

Just as an FYI: IF you've ever seen the 3-4-5 clutch packs in these,
you'd wonder how they even stay together for 10K miles in our heavy assed
trucks !!!
