Bought my 2001 Yukon 6 months ago. The tow/haul mode has never worked. No light on dash, no change in shift patterns when button pushed etc. Is there a fuse on this system or a common componant failure? Need to tow with it in a week and would like it working. Can someone point me in a place to start troubleshooting?

I remember reading here, or maybe somewhere else, that the wire going to the T/H button, in the shift selector is VERY short and is known to break since it/might be pulled tight during normal use.

Should be an easy check for you, or give your local tech a possible lead. Good luck!

I just repaired mine. It ended up being the broken wire. A couple soders and about 30 mins and it's good as new.

Just search around for the thread that has the how to

You guys rock!! Thank you so much. I will check it for a broken wire. How do I get the switch out of the lever? DO you have to pull the shift lever to get to the wire?

take the covers off the steering column and you will see the broken wire at the base of the shift lever. No need to remove the lever, just find a way to complete the broken connection. same thing happened to mine.
