I have been a member going on 3 years and I still can't do a search worth a shit. I know I saw a thread started about towing with 22's last year....hell it may have been this year but I have had a few cold ones since the begining of the year. I have U2-55's on Falken 305/45/22 Ziex S/TZ 04 118H M+S( I have no idea what this shit means). Is there a place where I can go to find out about towing with these tires? I was given a 19 ft 2004 travel trailer, but I have to find a place to store it which shouldn't be to much of a problem. My biggest hurdle is whether or not I can tow it with these tires. It's in E. texas right now and I have until Labor day to let my sister know if I want it. If not she will tow it back to S. Texas with her. I'm not oppossed to down sizing my wheels for 20's if that is what it will take. Any help would be great.

Thanks brotha you are right up there with Yates in terms of knowledge so much appreciated. I will need to look at the side wall difference between the 285's and 305's to see what you towed with compared to what I will be towing with. BTW, how's the house coming along? The last pics I saw you had done alot and the landscape and painting made it look like a whole new crib.

You should be fine... You should check the weight limits/rating of the tires and wheels to be sure, but a 19' trailer should not weigh that much.
Does the trailer have trailer brakes? If not, it should. Make sure that you install a good brake controller. I doubt you would need a weight distribution hitch, but it will help you level and control the trailer. Plus, you can add an anti-sway bar.

I use to tow our 23' toyhauler with the 22's that came with our truck and it actually handled better than the stock avalanche wheels I have now!!

Towed a 6k lb trailer across the country with 305/40/22 with no problem at all.

Just check your weight ratings as the tire can only handle so much. Make sure you have a brake controller and weight and sway is going to be greatly appreciated if you plan on keeping up with traffic. I work at an RV dealership so if you have questions please ask we see a lot of people doing unsafe things and I have seen the aftermath of unsafe towing.

I tow my 23' wakeboard boat to the lake on 26's with 30series tires and haven't had any problems.
