I have not aired them up to 35 yet as I just got here and it’s cold this morning. But the purpose of this pic is you can see they are all registered and reading thru the vehicle yet I still have a tire pressure light.

You have probably already did all this, but. Confirm foot brake sensor is functioning and sending signal to module. Start relearn/calibration procdure with gauge pressure in each tire at least 40psi. Start with drivers side front, passengers side front, passenger side rear, drivers side rear. Be sure that all previously installed sensors are far away from vehicle. As these vehicles age and corrode, grounds connections clean and tight is critical.
Adding the entire procedure here for reference and benefit of searchers.
1. Set the tire pressure of all wheels to pressure specified on the tire and loading information label.
2. Turn ignition ON with engine OFF. Apply parking brake.
3. To enable Learn Mode, turn headlight switch from OFF to parking lamps 4 times within 4
seconds. A double horn chirp will sound and the low tire pressure indicator will begin to flash to
indicate the learn mode has been enabled.
4. Starting with left front tire, hold a tire sensor activation tool against the side wall of the tire, within
3 inches of the valve stem. Activate tool until a horn chirp sounds.
5. After horn chirp has sounded, proceed to the next 3 sensors in the following order: right front,
right rear and left rear.
6. After left rear sensor has been learned, turn ignition switch to OFF position to exit Learn Mode.
7. Test drive the vehicle above 25 mph for at least 2 minutes before viewing tire pressures on DIC

It would be interesting to know what the TPMS psi limits are set to in that vehicle. Those limits, IIRC, can be adjusted somewhat with a Tech 2 or other advanced bidirectional scan tool.

I still think it would help to get the actual B- or U-code, or whatever is triggering the DIC or idiot light notification. Has it been driven at all after the sensor change?

I have driven it after the sensor change and after about 300yards it kicks the light back on. All sensors go into drive mode with 36-38ish psi reading from the vehicle. I’m wondering if the PDM is bad or the IPC at this point.

So I got a replacement from O’Rs and the service part number apparently doesn’t support TPMS. In this case the customer is agreeable to get rid of the tpms features. My question is how to get the service tire monitor system message to turn off on the cluster?

I am interested in the answer. I am compiling information on how to manage these vehicles as they the their computers and modules become unavailable or unusable. I also want the part number of the ones from Oreilly. They have 19 available for 2004 and 26 available for 2005 year.
I am off to search the manual for frequencys and speed requirements for use.

you realize TPMS is a federally mandated safety feature and as a shop owner you should walk away from having anything to do with disabling the TPMS right?
that being said, there is a reason it's being triggered, either the sensors are incompatible or the learn procedure is not being done properly or completed properly.
even if you wanted to do it anyway there is no way to turn off tpms via any legit scan tool.
you can only do it with 3rd party hardware (leave that up to the customer to do on there own)
what I would do is disconnect the battery, while it is disconnected clean the connection (both sides), reconnect it and put a charger on it.
then I would do as already mentioned and confirm the parking brake indicator is working over time the metal tab can get some build up on the surface so you may need to spray some contact cleaner on it.
once that is confirmed proceed with the standard learn procedure start to finish with compatible TPMS sensors.
if you have to at that point walk the customer thru the procedure and if it doesn't work it doesn't work and tell them there is nothing more that can be done without additional diagnostic cost and that you were in error when you thought it could be disabled. then either proceed with additional cost or have the customer sign off on it.

Not to argue with you but GM decided to disable it on their own by not offering the feature in the current part number offered for this vehicle. My guess is because the mandate doesn’t effect vehicles before 2008 from what I have read. When you put a new window switch module in the vehicle from OEM it doesn’t support TPMS already. The tire light goes out on the dash and there is a message in the message center to service the tire monitor system. To get rid of the message you either have to put in an IPC from a vehicle that already doesn’t support TPMS or use a tech 2 scanner and program it to a version that doesn’t support it. I replaced the module with one that supported TPMS out of a salvage yard so the vehicle is fixed back to original intent from the assembly line.

Service part number of what?

The passenger door window and unlock switches have the modules for the keyless remote and TPMS built into them. They come in different versions during production years. However the service level version has keyless remote support but does not support TPMS. On the sticker it says “US Service”.

I suppose it's technically possible to put a 2003 door switch in a 2004 and or cluster but they would not be the correct part, if you use the correct part numbers and program the switch/cluster as needed to the VIN then this would not be any issue. that would be a end user error, not gm's fault.

What I’m saying is if you buy the correct part number that GM offers now it will not come with TPMS support.
