Hey guys,

I just installed the hitch receiver to my 2000 Limited, and need to wire it up for trailer brake lights. When I was under the truck I saw a connector on the drivers side frame that looked like it might be where I would splice in. Is this connector there to add a piggy back harness? If so, this may be easier than I thought.

Thanks,

matt

Piggyback is possible if you can find a specific kit for it. But splicing will likely happen instead. Make yourself a nice 4 and 7 wire system. Al the wiring fora seven conductor is in place with the exception of the terminals on a few. A red and and blue are in place for power and e-brake signalling. The front ends are bundled in the big harness that crosses the brake booster. There are two 30 amp fused lugs on the power box that can be used. the auxiliary terminal in the 7 wire setup is often used for backup lights but its use is very flexible so you usually run awire forwhat you need it to do.
