Hey all, I need to install an aux tranny cooler. My '08 tahoe doesn't have the factory aux tranny cooler, so I'm trying to identify the right line I should disconnect and send through the cooler. If you look at the pic, I'm standing on the passenger side of the hood looking at the right side of the radiator. I located the two silver lines going to and from the tranny to the radiator (circled), but I'm wondering which on is the return, top or bottom? The directions say the return to the tranny is the one I should disconnect from the radiator and send through the cooler. Thanks in advance!! -Jon

Im about to do the same thing, my '12 didnt come with the additional cooler either. I would think the return would be on the bottom, but to double check they say to start the truck, put the truck in gear for a min or so for the temp to start to heat up, then feel which line is warmer for the inlet.

Yeah, I tried to do that too, but I couldn't detect much of a difference in temp between the two. I even drove it for a while then checked it and still wasn't easy to tell. I'll try measuring both with my digi multimeter and a temp probe. technically probably doesn't really matter which one is bypassed, but I like to follow directions just in case.

BTW, on my '08 Tahoe w/o any stock aux cooler, the return to the tranny is the top line out of the radiator and the one you should send through the aux cooler.

I just installed my trucool 40k this afternoon, good to know the top one was the right one anyway. I couldnt have gotten in there to mess with the bottom one anyway, so glad it ended up being the top one. There's definitely less room to work with on the Tahoes than Silverados.
