Has anyone changed out the jiffy tite trans cooler line fittings in radiator and changed them out to Boss o-ring? I want to change out the notorious problem child trans lines on my Tahoe to be all jic fittings. What I have been told from techs is that the factory fitting in radiator trans cooler can be treaded out and replaced with a boss o-ring. Just want to confirm before I try and do it.

I never knew the jiffy tite trans type fittings were problematic. Never had a problem with them leaking on either my 2001 or 2012

+1. They're bulletproof on every one of these trucks I've owned - 3 in the past decade.

Nothing wrong with the factory transmission lines, the factory oil cooler lines are another story though......historically most of them leak at the crimp from aluminum to rubber line, not at the connector.

You can unscrew the fittings from the radiator but if you pull them both at once, the internal cooler will fall away. There's really no need to change the style of connection, the Jiffy-Tite system works just fine as everyone else has said. The Lisle tools (22930 and 22940) make them easy to remove without damaging or having the clip go flying.
