Hi,

How cold is too cold for transmission fluid?

Some people argue about the temp. of the trans. fluid, they think it is harmful for the trans system if the fluid gets too cold. Is this true??

Not sure I’ve heard that, but you could ask some of the guys here that live way up north. @05Single lives in Alaska. Personally, I’ve had vehicles sit in sub-zero weather for days here in Iowa and run just fine.

-70 below zero in the oils fields on top of Alaska near prudhoe bay. Never seen a trucks trans effected based solely on cold weather. Now me doing donuts on the ice in a company truck is a different story
