I have a 2004 yukon sle 5.3 2wd it has 130000 miles on it. ive owned it for six months and it only had 119000 when i got it. I drive it to work and back which is 30 to 45 minutes depending on traffic.recently i noticed after driving 30 minutes or more , when im on the interstate driving about 70-75 mph the rpm just starts steadily rising while the mph just drops. I can give it gas and it speeds up but when i just cruise the rpms will rise as my speed drops. it would seem to me the transmission is getting hot and slipping like a bad clutch on a manual car. anyone have any experience with this problem? I dont know what service has been done to the car , but would it benefit from a fluid change or maybe a transmission cooler if it dont have one????

any help woukd be appreciated

sounds like it, Jay is very knowledgeable on these...when doing so, see if pulling down to 3rd helps and stays consistant.
That will unlock converter too, to see if maybe it is slipping.

Jay could expand more on that, but that will help see if it holds 3rd at least. And to take out possibility of TC slipping or going out. My tranny went at about 70K...so you did good getting that far :D

Don't pull down to 3rd at 75...55 or so so it doesnt really rev the engine.
