I am wondering how hard it is to change a 4L60E to another 4L60E, trans now has internal failure by not going into reverse. is it basically just unbolt, and then bolt the new back in?

yes. borrow or rent a "trans jack"

Look for the bolt on very top of bell housing.
You will need about 3' of extensions and a swivel that has been tapped with electrical tape to kep it from flopping around.

Are you handy with tools ?
If your handy and have a friend help you it is a really easy job. You should be able to have it out and back in the same day.

If you do it your self there are two plugs on the drivers side that are glued in. Get a hair dryer and heat the up. It is a slow process but if you don't hear them you will break wires and the $100sensor they attach too.

Extensions extensions extensions. Or ideally a 3 foot long 1/2" drive female to 3/8" drive male extension for the top two bell-housing bolts after you have removed the trans cross-member and lowered the tail of the trans down a bit. Not a tough job but the right tools make it easy.

Whoa..I guess TheKid_eric is 17. Impressed. In that case, get all your friends involved and have
a pool party after.
