I'm having some sort of problem with my 2010 Tahoe LT. Seems like the transmission is always in too high of a gear. When it does that I have to press way down on the gas pedal to make it downshift. In traffic the truck sucks big time. Sometimes when I step down the truck just starts to rumble till it downshifts. WTF is wrong witgh this thing? Thanks guys.

Used to have the same problem. Drop Justin at BlackBear tuning an email, and get started on the process of having him make you a custom tune. You'll be able to tune out the things you don't like about the tranny.

For me, the transmission was the only thing I didn't like about the truck -- and it's all I thought about anymore when driving around town. With the surging and bogging tuned out of the truck, life is good again.

It's the only way. Talk to Justin.

being a 2010 couldn;t you take it in for warranty work. I have a 2010 tahoe as well and haven't noticed any problems.

It's not a warranty issue. If you're used to a 4-speed tranny or having some pep to your truck, you're not going to appreciate the gas-saving efficiency programming of the 6-speed tranny. I've posted on this a number of times (how I couldn't stand this tranny, especially after my 2002 Tahoe's was perfectly fine), and there's nothing anyone can do except to program the crappiness out of it.

Hope you are right. Based on all the tune tune tune comments in this forum I'm scheduled with him this Tuesday. Will let you know what I think.

I had an '02 Avalanche,'02 Tahoe, '04 Avalanche (bought back by G.M. for a water leak they couldn't fix in the midgate area). A 2004 Silverado SS and an '06 and '07 Trailblazer SS. I never experienced being so unhappy with a transmission. Going to wait and see what the op has to say about the tune from Justin. My son is also into tuning some what but I'd rather have some one more knowledgeable do it for me. Also the dealer thinks it's fine the way it shifts. I really hate the truck because of it. Last month my throttle body crapped out. I had to limp to the dealer. Second time it happened. First time they changed the VCIM. Really getting tired of G.M. trucks.

Aren't YOU the OP?

I know that you don't have to take my word for it, but I thought I made a pretty good recommendation in getting a BB tune. Justin can TUNE THE TRANSMISSION. It will be much better than it is now, I assure you.
