Trouble shoot steering wheel dic switch

So on my steering wheel I have the controls for the radio, and all the DIC swtiches. The problem is out of the four switches on the steering wheel, only three are functioning. The one with the button for checking fuel economy, and engine oil life precentage is working, the other button on the same switch is not. That is the button that allows me to scroll through the odometer and other readings that you can get from press the button on the instrument cluster next to the MPH gauge. My question is does anyone else have this problem or had this problem. I have narrowed it down to the wiring from the clock spring, the clock spring itself or possibly the wiring from the clock spring to the instrument cluster. Any help or advice is appreciated. And yes I have already replaced the switch with a brand new one.

this is way way way late, but did you resolve this? my 04 tahoe is having the same issue but both buttons on the one switch isn't working.
