Which brand of wires and spark plugs is everyone using these days?

I honestly cannot tell the different between the spark plugs other then they range from $2/ea to $11/ea!!

Any recommendations?

Other then plugs and wires, anything else folks are changing in their tune ups?

unknown at this time.
ac delco platnium plugs and cap/rotor/wires.

I picked up ac delco wires/cap/rotor for $90 amazon.

Would not hurt to check your driveline fluids and change your air/fuel filter and pvc valve.

After many years I have tried many aftermarket brands and have not had good luck.
I would stick with Delco for Tune Up parts.

Back before my new motor and I was having problems. I was fouling plugs very fast. The cheaper NGK and other brand plugs would foul up in two days and have to be replaced. When I used the more expensive ACDelco plugs, they would last a week before they had to be replaced.

I put all new ACDelco in my new crate motor, and after 56,000kms they are still running. Although it's getting time to replace them soon.

What is the gapping on our plugs?

Are they effected by the notice Chevy/GMC put out that instead of the .06gap, we should run .04?

If It was my 99 tahoe.
First thing I would do is buy 4cans of Seafoam.
Do the vacume booster seafoam trick with 2 cans then pour a can in tank and oil. run it for 3 days then change it all to some cheap castrol 20-50 and pour in another can of seafoam into oil. wait another 3 days then change to synthetic.

Also buy a ACCEL pickup coil, MSD primary coil, MSD wires, New cap and rotor. and some cheap ass NGK plugs (non iridium crap).
Then break out my jewelers file and Square up the ground strap creating as close to perfect 90* edges on all sides of the tip of the ground strap (this enhances your spark energy 10x).
Given that you bought the high output MSD coil, Open up your gap .005 from .45 to .65 untill you get a missfire then regap them -.005. you want the largest gap you can get before missfire with a high output coil.
After all that is done do the tranny flush and filter change via the cooler.
Change out power streeing fluid to sysntec a full flush not just a top off.
My fav is to run pure Lubeguard red.
Then change Diff fluids to syntec, grease all steering linkage, greese all suspension bushings all with high quality syntec waterproof grease and maximize tire pressure's.
If you want to enhance MPG at same time install a electric fan and drop in a good air filter.

After you do this it will drive like a new truck.

This is what I would do if it was mine, This is what I do to all my vehicals.

Plug-2.jpg

The curved peice of metal that wraps over the electrode (the pointy thing in center)

Reason for sharpening it (aka boxing it, putting 90* edges) is electricity jumps from sharp edges ALOT better than rounded edges. this is why manufacturs leave that small sharp edge on the leading edge of the ground strap, but it only goes back about 1 mm on the strap.
This is done to force the spark flame front to the leading edge of the plug.
You will notice if you look carefully 1 mm back from the tip the ground strap is rounded.
I sharpen the strap all the way back to the curve, both inside and outside.
this allows the spark to expand more. especialy with a high output coil.

I have been doing this trick since I was racing ATV's and dirtbikes almost 17 years ago.
It is very noticable in those smaller engines, so I just carried it over to my race cars and DD's..

This is also why I use cheap plugs, Since I can recondition them very easily.
