Hi all,

New member here. Just purchased a new 2015i Tahoe LTZ 2 weeks ago. I like the vehicle very much except for a few key problems. The first problem is that I find the drivers seat quite uncomfortable. The leather seems "sticky" and easily makes my pants ride up. I have also had lower back pain on longer trips. I was wondering if anybody knows if the Yukon SLT or Denali has a higher grade leather seat that won't seem sticky and has better lumbar support. I have searched everywhere and I can't find anywhere that lists if the Yukon provides a higher quality leather on the interior vs. the Thaoe ltz. Thank you for any insights you can provide on the Yukon vs Tahoe interior materials!

The Denali definitely has better leather. I have an SLT but never sat in a Tahoe LTZ to know if they're different or not.

Thanks for the reply Felix! Have you had any problems with the leather having that sticky cheaper type feeling in the slt? Thinking of trading over to the gmc side if so

You are not alone. I think the seats are very uncomfortable. I don't have the sticking issue you mention but the leather is hard and the padding is firm. The side wings on the bottom would dig into my butt and legs. I had to put a towel down in the center for awhile it was so bad. GM knows of the issues and I have read will work with a dealer to help fix the seat.

I have driven about 650 miles now and my weight seems to be winning and it is breaking in. I don't have pain, but it is far from a comfortable seat.

The up side is that I would not be able to fall asleep !!!

I don't seem to have the same issues with the leather in my Tahoe LT. The side bolsters are a bit uncomfortable on the driver's seat but so far hasn't caused me any pain and I'm getting used to the seat now after about 350 miles in. I came from a Mercedes C400 so the seats definitely took some getting used to in the Tahoe but definitely not something that has been giving me any back pain. Perhaps have the dealership check out the seat and see if there is anything they can do.

I would have to chime in that the Denali seats, IMO, are some of the most comfortable I've ever been in. And I'm EXTREMELY picky with cars as well.
