I know they help a little on the 4.6 Ferd. Is anyone running underdrives on their 5.3? if so, your thoughts?

Thanks.

I can't speak for anyone who's running them on an 07+, but in my experience underdrive pulleys really only help vehicles with lots of parasitic loss - like ones with radiator fans driven by the engine belts via clutch. There is a huge difference between my old Yukon with mechanical fans vs my Tahoe with e-fans - the efans free up a ton of usable power. UDP's might be a worthwhile mod to add if you're trying to squeeze every last bit of power out of the motor as part of a project build, but in and of themselves I wouldn't bother.

Maybe I'm wrong, if anyone is running them please chime in.

I can see where OD might be helpful at an idle with an efan truck, but UD? I don't think it's needed. if you had a race truck sure every little bit helps but a DD...no.

SW CT,
I ran a Powerbond udp on my '07 Tahoe, off idle throttle tip in was much improved over stock. Best bet is to shop around looking for a used one. If it is one of your first mods skip it, would only do it if you had all the other bolt-ons first.

I have one with mechanical driven fans. Not really worth what you pay for it. I wish I would have done E-fans instead.

You can do something better with your money :imo:

That is correct, only midly to heavy modified engine components is worth it.

Where did you get your powerbond from?
