Are you doing this for the look of the truck, or for performance? I have thought about it too, but my brakes work fine, even towing heavy loads. I can't understand putting 5K in a new brake system. I probably will consider drilled and slotted rotors, when I change them.

As far as a little better braking some people do go with 07+ calipers up front and its a good upgrade. I might do it but dont want to upgrade again down the line. And yeah more then likely you will need 17"+wheels

I need to figure out how I am going to stop my denali once it has its h/c/i bottle setup lol. I dont wanna drop 5k, hopefully can do something used for 2-3. Thats somewhat justifiable. Possibly even make some c6z0 calipers work.

Im running a 4-piston set-up with slotted 14" rotors up front that I installed a few yrs ago. HUGE difference. With the stock brakes and 24s, it wouldn't grab hard enough to lock up and engage the ABS. Since the upgrade, I can brake hard enough to activate the ABS and it's definitely noticeable how much quicker it comes to a halt. I've noticed brake fade is much less now. Definitely noticed that when I was in the mountains in New Mexico a couple months ago.
Most aftermarket big brake kits for our trucks are going to require 17" or larger wheels.

I found set of Caddy 17 inch wheels here in St louis for 350 and was just thinking of slotted and cross drilled rotors with hawk pads. Cant afford 5k with a family at christmas time and its a dd.

What size tire keeps the speedo close? Is the a recailabration needed?

2007 + GM SUV calipers & brackets, pads and rotors will help increase braking performance without breaking the bank. All parts are shelf parts and direct bolt on.

2008 Suburban slotted / cross drilled Front rotor vs Stock 2004 Suburban Front rotor

No, the 05+ 13" brake rotor and caliper upgrade requires 17" wheels. I picked up calipers and brackets from my local pick-a-part for $50. I would recommend new brake pads and rotors (you don't want to re-use old pads and rotors).

I am surprised that no one has mentioned hydroboost conversion. That made an enormous difference in mine. Way more than going to Powerslot stock-sized rotors. I did the 05+ caliper swap with 13" Powerslot rotors and Hawk HPS pads at the same time.

My advice: Do hydroboost first. Cheap and relatively easy. I got the parts for mine for $80 at a pick-a-part. Takes an afternoon. If that doesn't get you where you need to be, then go bigger brakes, but I guarantee that you will wish you had done this sooner.

Adjustable pedals are a bit more difficult and you need a pedal that came from an Escalade or some other vehicle that had adjustable pedals and hydroboost.
