Hey guys, my name is Chris and I am from the Dayton, Ohio area. I have been on here for a while reading and doing some research on Suburban's. I currently have a 2008 GMC SLT Crew cab Duramax that I am looking to trade in on a Suburban because we need the room for our growing family. I have went and looked at a couple of LT Suburban's that are 2014 models and have between 22K and 28K miles on them. They both have sunroof and DVD and one has the power lift gate option. Both were rental vehicles and they both drive really nice and seem to be in really good shape except for a few scuffs and scratches on both the outside and inside but nothing major at all. Both vehicles are priced at $38,900 and neither dealer will budge on the prices. Do these prices sound fair to you all? KBB and NADA have retail pricing between $42,000 and $44,000. All I was hoping to get them down to was $38,000 (not out the door) and they won't budge at all. Just wanted to get everyone's thoughts and see if the prices seem fair.

They should budge, since the 2015 Mid years are coming out. Doesnt sound like a terrible deal though. They 2wd or 4wd?

Sorry, should've stated. They are 4wd with leather and the standard 60/40 second row

I would never buy a former fleet vehicle. Just my 2 cents. There are deals to be had out there especially private party.

I own two.

No issues.

You have to realize that renting a suburban yukon is not for asses. Its expensive per day. Higher rental fees mean usually better clients that rent.

Not true. We rent those pigs all the time and beat the piss out of them. Especially when we want to pull heavy loads we don't want to do on our own trucks.

My suburban was previously a rental vehicle and other than the relatively high mileage, you couldn't tell the difference between it and a new one (that I could not have been able to afford). I think I paid just a little less than what you are looking at for a 2WD with sunroof and dvd LT model. It does not have the power lift gate option, but I didn't want that anyways. With all of the certified warranties that are available and car fax (I know all of those things can be gotten around) I didn't have any worries when purchasing.

Sure there are trucks that people rent and beat them up, but I think you would be able to tell if they were one of those that had been heavily abused or ragged on.
