I have the touring package with the enhanced security package.Just wondering if its picicking up something from that? The V1 is only missing the latest update. Any thoughts on this?:chair:

Unfortunately, the collision detection technology that comes in a lot of new cars uses K band. If your radar detector picks up multiple K band bogeys simultaneously, look around and I bet you'll see a new GM vehicle nearby.

In order to prevent your Denali from setting off your radar detector constantly you have to turn off any type of collision detection, blind zone alert, rear cross traffic alert and the lane departure warning system.

Alternatively, I think V1s allow you to turn off K band, but I haven't tried this yet.

Unfortunately, the collision detection technology that comes in a lot of new cars uses KA band. If your radar detector picks up multiple KA bogeys simultaneously, look around and I bet you'll see a new GM vehicle nearby.

Thank you for your help. I sent a message to V1 also. I like all those saftey features, so will look into other solutions.

I haven't gotten any false notifications from my V1. It's hanging from the rearview mirror and plugged into the same wires as the above posts.

Figured out something on this topic so I thought I would share. We have four V1s in my family, bought over the course of many years. The features on the newer model GMs I mentioned earlier set off K band on the newer model V1s but not the older models. I don't know why that is.

So, if you have a newer model V1, the only way to prevent it from going off constantly is to either disable these features in your vehicle settings or turn off K band on the V1. After a few days I really missed the blind spot monitors so I looked up how to turn off K band on Valentine's website. It's pretty easy to do so I recommend it for those who want to keep these vehicle features on.
